Dr Feather has an interest in the Genetics of Renal tract malformation, she is co-applicant on a MRC grant lead by Prof Cordell(Newcastle) to fund genome wide analysis of VUR sibling pairs initially funded by the Wellcome trust. She also has a KRUK grant with Prof Southgate to look at the role of Uroplakins in renal tract malformations. Dr Feather is a co-applicant on a Wellcome grant to study OFD type 1. Locally Dr Feather was awarded a grant from the Challenge fund to create a Research nurse post to create a Genetic Database of Renal Tract Malformations for West Yorkshire
We are actively recruiting to both the TWIST and the Long-term tapering or standard steroids for nephrotic syndrome trials.
The prospective cohort longitudinal study to investigate patterns of adherence in children undergoing dialysis and the qualitative study of children and parents' perceptions of self-management of treatment with RRT in those undergoing RRT have both recruited in Leeds.
Through our Psychologist we are undertaking a qualitative bi-directional prospective study of factors influencing decision making in Staff and parents/patients delivery of care.
